Chief Mark A. Weeks, MS
City Marshal

My law enforcement career began in 1993 upon joining the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary (FHPA).  I was accepted to the Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy in 1994. I served with the Florida Highway Patrol for over 12 years before joining the DeFuniak Springs Police as Assistant City Marshal in 2006.

Prior to my law enforcement career, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a minor in Criminology from Florida State University.  Later, while working as a State Trooper, I received a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.  I have extensive training in police supervision and management as well as traffic homicide investigations.

In January, 2009, I was appointed as Acting  Supervisor for the Office of City Marshal before becoming the elected City Marshal for the DeFuniak Springs Police on April 14th, 2009.

My staff and I will continue to provide the best law enforcement service to the citizens, visitors, and businesses of DeFuniak Springs. Our number one goal is to be courteous, professional, and respectful to all.  We provide services ranging from vehicle unlocking to victim assistance.>......>>>>>>>>
