LakeFest festival includes an educational component for families looking for ways to enjoy the great outdoors through LakeFest festival in historic DeFuniak Springs, Florida annually the weekend of the 3rd Saturday of May. Government and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to exhibit information about visiting state parks, planting butterfly gardens, kayaking adventure opportunities, boat safety rules and regulations, fishing opportunities, camping, birding, hiking and exploring. The main mission of these agencies and nonprofit groups at LakeFest is not to sell merchandise, but to offer free information about government and nonprofit sponsored activities and events in the great outdoors. However, these groups may offer some items for sale, but the emphasis is on educational outreach. Register your group. By the way...free camp site for those exhibitors who want to bring a tent and stay the night on the festival grounds, Friday evening, May 14 and Saturday, May 15. Check the box in your Request Form.
