Marvel of Flight: March 29, 30, 2019
A free, two-day fly-in & expo featuring vintage plane exhibits, food and craft vendors, skydiving demonstrations, educational exhibits, car show and more! First day designed for pilots to fly-in, set-up and to fellowship/network with other pilots and plane owners. Overnight camping for pilots provided, along with special educational courses and ability of pilots to provide private flights to the public. The second day of activities is for the general public to enjoy the exhibit of unique planes while visiting the many educational displays relating to flight, rockets and space technology. LakeFest 2019: May 17, 18 & 19, 2019
A free, 3-day festival hosted by the City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida celebrating safe, family-friendly outdoor recreational activities in the water and on the banks of beautiful Lake DeFuniak. Live music, entertainment, kids activities, water slides, animal encounters, cardboard boat races and more! Also, this year's program includes free courses by certified trainers from the American Kayaking Association (AKA) for kayakers, canoeists and paddle board enthusiasts along with free primitive camping on the festival grounds tor those who sign up for training in advance. City Government Week 2019: October (Dates TBA)
A week-long series of events held annually in October showcasing and engaging citizens in the work of the City of DeFuniak Springs' municipal government involving school tours of facilities, demonstrations of city equipment and a public "meet and greet" reception with city officials. Florida City Government Week is a time for municipalities like DeFuniak Springs to provide and foster civic education, collaboration, volunteerism and more. All cities are encouraged to participate in this educational effort orchestrated state-wide by the Florida League of Cities.
