Secretary to the Mayor

Responsibilities

The Secretary to the Mayor serves as an administrative secretary to the Mayor and provides executive support to the City Manager and other City officials.

These activities include:

  • Primary telephone contact with public
  • Posts notices
  • Responding to requests for information and assistance from Council, staff, and citizens
  • Maintaining records, filing, drafts, and correspondence for Mayor and other City officials
  • Preparing proclamations and certificates
  • Carrying out the process for the rental of City facilities
  • Receiving all special event permits
  • Preparing the City Event Calendar
