Bowie Benjamin Smith, 6-week-old son of Max and Emily Smith, was born January 19, 2023. He passed away March 6, 2023, at home in Freeport, Florida.  Bowie was so loved by his family, and he brought us much love and joy.  His big, sweet smile and twinkling blue eyes made us smile in return. Bowie taught us to treasure the moments we have together. We will love him forever and he will live in our hearts and our memories. Bowie, we thank God for your life and the time we had with you. 

Bowie is survived by his parents; brother, Beckham; sister, Saylor; grandparents, Ronnie and Martha Smith of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Susan Burns of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Paul Burns of Collierville, Tennessee; aunts and uncles, Jace and Jamie Smith of Cleveland, Mississippi, Eli Smith of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Ashley Burns of Collierville, Tennessee, Michael Burns of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Douglas Burns of Marion, Arkansas; cousins, Margaret Whitley Smith and Thomas Smith of Cleveland, Mississippi; and great-grandparents, Patricia Smith of Freeport, Florida, Margaret Ross of Oakland, Mississippi, Mary and Douglas Sall of Yankton, South Dakota, and Louise Burns of Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023, beginning at 4:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, DeFuniak Springs, Florida, with Reverend Emily Proctor officiating. Committal services will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
