[ARCHIVED] MISSING 76 YEAR OLD LOCATED IN DEFUNIAK SPRINGS

DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a man in need of medical attention Friday at approximately 5:45 PM. A passerby observed an elderly man lying on the ground by his vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 West and Shoemaker Drive. Officers arrived and found 76 year old Ronald Figueroa in a state of confusion. Walton Fire Rescue responded and ended up transporting Figueroa for medical reasons. A check of Figueroa and his vehicle revealed that he had been reported missing by his family in Gulf Breeze. A Silver Alert had been issued by Gulf Breeze Police Department on February 11th and advised Figueroa was believed to be traveling to Pensacola. “I’m thankful to the Citizen for calling help for Mr. Figueroa. He had fallen into traffic on a busy roadway. If it hadn’t been for a good Samaritan, Mr. Figueroa would not be with us today,” said Chief Mark Weeks. Gulf Breeze Police Department was notified of Figueroa’s location and notified his family.
