[ARCHIVED] ARGUMENT LEADS TO VICTIM BEING STABBED AND SEVERELY BEATEN

Officers with the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a fight, turned stabbing, at Southern Springs Apartments Sunday evening at around 8 PM. Witnesses reported that a fight between two black males over an argument resulted in one subject being stabbed under the arm and receiving multiple blows to the head with a metal pipe. DeFuniak Springs Fire Department and Walton EMS responded and transported the victim to Healthmark Regional Medical Center. Once stabilized, he was transported to Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center for surgery and was later released. Officers and Deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office searched the area for several hours, looking for the suspect. The suspect is still at large and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Chuck White at 850-892-8513.
