DeFuniak Springs Police, DeFuniak Springs Fire, and Walton Fire Rescue responded to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at approximately 1:10 p.m. Saturday in reference to a deceased female. A church member spotted the body near a picnic table in the back yard of the church. Detectives and Officers responded and began investigating. The female was lying in a pool of blood with blood on her hands and clothing. Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State Attorney's Office, and the Medical Examiner's Office responded to assist in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and the body has not been identified as of this release. Anyone with information on this incident is requested to contact Detective Philip Austin at 850-892-8513.
