[ARCHIVED] SUSPICIOUS MAN AT WALMART ARRESTED ON WARRANT

Officers with DeFuniak Springs Police responded to WalMart in reference to a suspicious man.  According to a WalMart loss prevention employee, a black male had tried to purchase gift cards with what was believed to be a stolen credit card.  The suspect left the store and was observed getting into a white sedan.  Officers located the sedan and attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which finally stopped near the AT&T store.  Officers questioned the passenger and determined that he had a warrant out of Hamilton County, FL for fraudulent use counterfeiting credit cards.  21 year old Arius Matthew Johnson, of Tampa, FL, was arrested on the outstanding warrant and transported to the Walton County Jail.  The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
