DeFuniak Springs Police are requesting the public’s help in catching a couple of lottery scratch-off bandits.  On April 24th, Officers responded to the Sunoco Food Store on U.S. Highway 331 S. in reference to a theft.  The store clerk advised that a black female had grabbed $200 in scratch-off tickets from the counter and ran out of the store.  The suspect fled in an unknown make dark colored sedan.

On April 25th, Officers responded to a different Sunoco Food Store on U.S. Highway 331 S. in reference to another theft of scratch-off lottery tickets.  According to the store clerk, a black male requested eight $25 and one $10 scratch off tickets.  Once the clerk placed them on the counter, the suspect grabbed them and ran outside.  The suspect fled the store in a red 4 door sedan.

It is believed that these two incidents are related and that the suspects may have acted together, with one driving for the other.  If anyone recognizes the suspects or their vehicle, please contact Detective Philip Austin at 850-892-8513.  Callers may also remain anonymous by calling our TIPS Line at 850-910-TIPS (8477).
