This week is Florida City Government Week and DeFuniak Springs Police welcomed members of the public to visit and see how we do business. A group of students from First Christian Academy decided to make a field trip out of visiting their police department. Students were able to observe how calls for service are received by 911 and dispatched. They also viewed the many work areas of the police department. Visitors even shared fresh donuts with Officers in the conference room before viewing a police car and equipment. “City Government Week” is an opportunity for us to show our citizens how we do business,” said Chief Mark Weeks. “Our citizens deserve to see their police department at work.” Mayor Bob Campbell came by to welcome members of the public.
