The DeFuniak Springs Police would like to thank all of the citizens that participated in a very successful Prescription Drug Take Back. The event was sponsored by the DeFuniak Springs Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
At no charge to the citizens, this event was held on a National Level April 30th, 2011, and the members of the DeFuniak Springs Police were happy to assist in this wonderful event. This is another tool that DeFuniak Springs Police uses in the attempt to prevent medication getting into the “wrong hands” winding up on the street or in the hands of a child.
The take back event was a success with dozens of citizens disposing of unwanted prescription medications. The citizens that visited the DeFuniak Springs Police Station on Saturday April 30th, 2011, expressed their appreciation of our dedication and efforts in preventing medication from polluting the environment and getting into the wrong hands,” said event coordinator Lieutenant David Krika”.
