[ARCHIVED] BARRICADED MAN ARRESTED WITH BUTCHER KNIVES

Arcabascio

DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a domestic dispute Wednesday afternoon at Woodridge Apartments.  A female complainant advised that her estranged husband, 63 year old Antonino Arcabascio, had become enraged and began breaking furniture and other items in the apartment.  The complainant also advised that Arcabascio had armed himself with a butcher knife.

Officers arrived at approximately 3:10 p.m. and made contact with the caller.  She stated that her husband was inside the apartment and armed with two large butcher knives. When Officers approached the apartment, Arcabascio quickly slammed the door shut and locked it. The caller mentioned that the suspect had made threats to use the knives.  Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist and entry was made, including forced entry into an interior room.   Arcabascio was taken into custody after a brief struggle and Taser deployment.   Arcabascio sustained minor injuries and was transported to Healthmark Regional Medical Center before being transported to the Walton County Jail.

Arcabascio was booked on charges of felony criminal mischief for causing extensive damage to apartments windows, doors, and a stove.  Additionally he was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief for damaging other personal property, and for an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.  He is currently awaiting first appearance.
