A traffic stop for careless driving turned into a drug arrest recently when an Officer spotted a black Buick driving erratically and crossing multiple lanes. The Officer noted that the vehicle appeared to be driving toward a white vehicle on U.S. Highway 90 West near Shoemaker Dr. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as 26 year old Devonte Clinch of DeFuniak Springs. During the investigation, Clinch reportedly threw marijuana buds and baggies out the passenger’s side of the vehicle. Additional Officers arrived and the items were collected. During a search of the vehicle, a set of scales and additional amounts of Marijuana was located along with some currency. Clinch was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail where he was booked on charges of Possession of more than 20 grams of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Tampering with Evidence.
