On May 21st, 2011 members from the DeFuniak Springs Police participated in the welcoming of a newly open business inside their jurisdiction.
Management from the new establishment “Dollar Tree” contacted the DeFuniak Springs Police and invited them to participate in their Grand Opening event scheduled for Saturday May 21st, 2011. Members from the DeFuniak Springs Police accepted their invitation and arrived early that morning and set up the agency’s Mobile Command Unit in front of their establishment.
The DeFuniak Springs Police Mascot “Eddie the Eagle” also made an appearance, which is always an attraction. Gifts of pencils, coloring books and cups with the Defuniak Springs Police pertinent information on them were on hand for all visitors as well. Finger printing and identification cards was also provided along with educational books for all ages.
The DeFuniak Springs Police would like to remind our citizens we are: “In Partnership with our Community” and it is always and honor when a business or a citizen requests the agency to assist them in a community or charitable event.
