If you attend the 4th of July Fireworks being held at Wee Care Park Thursday night, there will be some traffic delays. DeFuniak Springs Police have been planning the logistics for the event to improve the traffic flow once the fireworks are over. Although event goers may park in any legal parking space/area, once the event is over vehicles will be directed to make a right onto Walton Road from their parking area. This means that if you are exiting Wee Care Park, you will be required to turn right (west) towards 331 N. There may be a temporary SLOW sign at John Baldwin Road so that traffic on Walton Road headed west does not have to stop at that intersection. All other connecting traffic and east bound traffic at John Baldwin Road is still required to stop at the intersection. You may then go another route to head back east. If you are leaving from Walton High School’s parking lot, you will be required to turn right (east) towards 83 N. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience, but want to expedite traffic flow as much as possible. We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July Celebration!
