Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, who were serving a warrant on an unrelated case, took Ishmeal Stevie Hodges into custody in Jackson County earlier today. According to investigators, Hodges was reluctant to surrender, but did eventually comply with Troopers. “This suspect was on law enforcement officers’ radar all over this area,” said Chief James Hurley. “ Based on our charges and if convicted, Hodges faces substantial time behind bars. He is a threat to our community and I applaud the public and all of the many agencies who helped in bringing him to justice.” Hodges is currently awaiting first appearance at the Jackson County Jail and will be brought back to Walton County to face charges including Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
