On May 25th, 2011 DeFuniak Springs Police began an investigation on a theft of Lawn Ornaments.
Investigating officers obtained witness statements and followed investigative leads, which enable them to identify persons of interest.
The theft spree for Loretta Ann Dittmer and Mildred Ann Adams ended when officers arrested them on May 30th, 2011, however the investigation wasn’t complete.
Over the next few days the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to similar reports of theft in various locations. Further investigation revealed that these thefts were performed by Loretta Ann Dittmer and Mildred Ann Adams as well.
On June 13th, 2011 the investigation was concluded and additional charges were added to both Loretta Ann Dittmer and Mildred Ann Adams.
Loretta Ann Dittmer and Mildred Ann Adams were charged with four counts of Dealing in Stolen Property (felony), one count Grand Theft (felony) and three counts (misdemeanor) Theft.
At the time of this press release most all of the stolen items had been recovered and returned back to the rightful owner.
