Delinquent Utility Bills

The City of DeFuniak Springs Utility Billing Department will reinstate disconnections on delinquent water and natural gas accounts on June 29, 2020.  The City reminds water and natural gas customers that all payments on utility bills are due no later than the 15th of the month.

“We refrained from disconnecting utility services for delinquent payments since the COVID outbreak,” says City Manager Mell Smigielski.  “Now that the governor has reopened the beaches and lifted many of the restrictions on business operations throughout the state, the economy is reportedly in the recovery stage with many people returning back to work.  We hope this is the case for all of our utility customers, but we are still willing to work with customers who need assistance with paying their bills to avoid a disconnection for delinquent payments.”

All utility payments should be made by 5pm, June 26, 2020 to avoid disconnection of services.  Customers who need assistance to avoid disconnection are advised to contact the Utility Billing Department at (850) 892-8500, (select option 2) for guidance prior to June 26.
