[ARCHIVED] Mayor Proclaims September 17-23, 2021 Constitution Week

City of DeFuniak Springs Mayor Bob Campbell proclaimed September 17-23, 2021 as Constitution Week at the City council meeting on August 24, 2021.  He presented the signed proclamation to local ConsA proclamation signed by Mayor Bob Campbell Observing Constitution Week 2021titution Week organizers Chairperson Christine Keating and Regent Connie Lee of the West Florida Chapter of Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR).  Citizens are asked by DAR and City leaders to ring bells, fly flags, recite the Preamble on Friday, September 17th at 4:00 p.m.  The 234th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution will be commemorated during constitution Wee, September 17-23, 2021.  The West Florida Chapter of Daughter's of the American Revolution are celebrating this week by actively educating the public, distributing 1,240 Constitution booklets and activities to Walton County seventh grade students, receiving a proclamation from the Mayor's office and reminding citizens that the Constitution is a living document that guarantees the freedoms Americans enjoy.  For more information about the Daughter's of the American Revolution and/or Constitution Week, contact Connie Lee, Regent,, West Florida DAR Chapter.
