Captain Michael J. Lolley joined the Office of the City Marshal, DeFuniak Springs Police in May, 2011 after retiring from the Enterprise Police Department in Alabama where he served for more than twenty-six years.
While at the Enterprise Police Department, Captain Lolley served in numerous positions including Captain over the Patrol Division, Captain over the Criminal Investigations Division, and served as Chief of Police from 1992 – 1995.
The Captain’s position had been vacant since December 2010; however the duties didn’t just go away. This required members from the command staff to absorb these duties.
“These extra duties absorbed by on other members, were overwhelming at times. Numerous times we had to forego own assigned duty in order to complete duties normally completed by the Captain”, said Lieutenant Tilman Mears.
Since his first official day on May 16th, 2011, Captain Lolley has put his experience to work. He hit the ground running and he has lifted some of the extra duties that the other members had been struggling to keep up with during the vacancy of this position.
Captain Lolley is a great asset to this agency as well as our community. He brings with him a long back ground of law enforcement experience “said Chief Mark A. Weeks”.
