[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE MAKES MULTI DRUG RELATED ARREST

On August 11th, 2011, members from the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to National Tire Broker’s in reference to theft.

The owner of National Tire Broker’s Jeff Cummings advised Officers that a customer had notified him stating, that prescription pills had been taken from her vehicle while it was there for repair. Officers interviewed employees that had been revealed to have been inside of said vehicle.

After an extensive investigation, DeFuniak Springs Police arrested Joshua Allen Franklin and charge him for; Burglary of Unoccupied Conveyance, Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, Petit Theft and False Official Statement.

On August 17th, 2011 members from the DeFuniak Springs Police conducted a traffic stop on a 1997 black Isuzu pickup. The driver of the pickup was identified as Douglas Neal Grimes.

During the traffic stop, further investigation revealed that Grimes was in Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Grimes was arrested and charged with Possession of Control Substance and transported to the Walton County Department of Corrections.

Investigation is still ongoing in both incidents.
