On August 23rd, 2011 members of the DeFuniak Springs Police attempted to stop a two door Honda Accord in the area of North Davis Lane. The driver failed to stop proving that his intentions were to elude police.
The driver, who was later identified as Allen Michael Walker of DeFuniak Springs, led police from North Davis Lane to a residential yard off of Landfill Road. After entering the driveway of the residence Walker exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers on scene secured the vehicle, which was occupied with three passengers.
Walker was found and taken into custody a short time later by other responding officers. Further investigation revealed that Walker was also in possession of illegal narcotics.
A Florida Uniform Traffic Citation was issued to Walker for driving while license suspended/revoked, as well as for excessive speed.
Walker was transported to the Walton County Correction Facility to face the charges of; Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement and Resisting without Violence.
Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies also arrived on scene and provided assistance.
