[ARCHIVED] FOUR YEAR OLD TRANSPORTED BY HELICOPTER AFTER VEHICLE CRASH

On October 14th, 2011 DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a traffic crash on U.S. Highway 331 South in the area of the Army Aviation Credit Union.

Quentin Valentine was northbound on U.S. Highway 331 South operating a 2004 Ford truck, when his course of travel changed. He traveled across the median into oncoming traffic.

Joseph Powell was traveling south on U.S. Highway 331 operating a 2001 Ford truck. He was also towing a trailer hauling a 2007 Pro-craft fiberglass boat.

The 2004 Ford truck driven by Valentine collided with the 2001 Ford truck driven by Powell. The impact of the crash caused the boat to break free from the trailer launching the boat through the air.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Valentine’s four year old passenger was transported by helicopter for what was believed to be none life threatening injuries.

Powell was transported to a local medical center for none life threatening injuries as well.
