On November 9th, 2011 members from DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a theft call at “Garrett’s Automotive” located on Highway 90 East.

Joseph Allen Martin told police he was opening the establishment for business. After he had opened the front doors he proceeded to the rear of the establishment to open the bay doors. It was during this time he heard the buzzer go off alerting him that someone had enter the front of the business.

Upon his return to the front he observed a subject exiting the front door, which he stated he had seen before.

It was at this point Martin noticed the bank bag that contained several hundred dollars used to open the establishment was missing.

At the time of this release the evidence currently gathered by officers did not support the allegations of theft.
