[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE SERVES SEARCH WARRANT AND MAKES ARREST

On November 16th, 2011 members from the DeFuniak Springs Police served a search warrant on a residence inside a local apartment complex located at, 315 South 19th, Street after an extensive undercover investigation.

Upon Entry Laura Ruth Durrance, Gregory Dewayne Lacey and a two year old child were located. Durrance and Lacey were taken into custody and the child was released to the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

During the search of the residence officers found cannabis, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

Durrance and Lacey were transported to the Walton County Department of Corrections to face the charges of; Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Durrance was also charged with Child Neglect.

The undercover operations resulted in Lacey being charged with two other additional drug charges to include, Sell of Cocaine within 1,000 feet of a Day Care Facility and trafficking hydrocodone.
