On December 2nd, 2011 the DeFuniak Springs Police obtained a new sign to replace the old and decaying sign located in front of the department. DeFuniak Springs Police was able to obtain the new sign thanks to private donations and manpower provided by the Walton County Corrections Institution.
DeFuniak Springs Police would like to thank those that provided funds to purchase materials to build the sign, and also to Assistant Warden Hollister and his staff.
A special thanks to the Carpentry Vocational Teacher Joseph Crain and Corrections Officer G. Rushing and his squad for their hard work in the construction and installation of the new sign.
