On January 7th, 2012, at approximately 9:07 PM, DeFuniak Springs Police responded to gunshots at Oakdale Apartments located at 226 North 1st Street.
Investigation revealed two victims. Montie Holmes was shot in the left leg and was taken to the Healthmark Regional Medical Center Hospital where he was treated and later released. The other victim was identified as Jerome Cochran who the suspect shot at, but missed
After an intensive investigation, arrest warrants were issued for the suspected shooter, Anthony Corderra Peacock on January 9th, 2012.
DeFuniak Springs Police received information that Peacock was hiding in Samson, Alabama. The information was relayed to the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, who located and arrested Peacock at an undisclosed location in Geneva County, Alabama.
Peacock is currently in the Geneva County Jail on local charges and awaiting extradition.
