[ARCHIVED] Airport AWOS/Beacon Project Update

Beacon: Procuring the beacon tower is taking much longer than anticipated and will control the schedule for that portion of the project. But, TCA (the beacon contractor) can come to the site and set the pole as soon as the new account for the Beacon/AWOS is established. Someone from the City will need to contact Gulf Power regarding establishing this account. (See the email below from TCA). Once it is in place then TCA can set the utility service pole and the AWOS project can proceed.

AWOS: The AWOS equipment is about 8 weeks from delivery. The contractor is tentatively planning on being on site in early February to begin the site preparation and clearing. This is dependent upon the service pole being in place. Also, we are still waiting on FAA approval for the AWOS site. So, the actual equipment will not be installed until that approval is in place.
