[ARCHIVED] DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE IS ALWAYS AT WORK FOR YOU

Members from the DeFuniak Springs Police continue to work hard to protect and serve their community. It’s almost impossible to inform the public of every incident and all the duties performed by officers, however we do feel that the community needs a summary on what the police are doing for them when applicable.

In the summary below you will find the last few days have proven to be very busy for the DeFuniak Springs Police.

Members from the DeFuniak Springs Police are looking for Willie Clyde Bryant 47 years of age. Bryant is wanted for Home Invasion/Robbery, Battery and Criminal Mischief that occurred in the early morning hours on June 4th, 2012. Through further investigation it was found that Bryant and the victim weren’t strangers to one another and had dated in the past. Due to Bryant’s history of violence, police are considering him to be dangerous.

During the afternoon hours on June 4th 2012 officers arrested Marvin Eugene McCullers 29 years of age of the Freeport area for False Imprisonment. The investigation began when officers were dispatched to 402 Hugh Adams Road (Super 8 Motel) in reference to a possible hostage situation that was reported by a third party. When officers arrived further investigation revealed that McCullers had held the undisclosed victim against her will in an aggressive manner after an extensive domestic dispute. McCullers was located on site and was taken into custody.

Later the same day officers were dispatched to a physical fight in progress at 373 South 20th Street. When officers arrived and attempted to intervene, Andrea Lea Gilligan began to resist and strike them. Gilligan was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Officer with Violence and Battery on Law Enforcement.

On the morning of June 5th, 2012 officers responded to 222 North 12th Street in reference to a burglary in progress. Officers arrived on scene to find the undisclosed owner (victim) of the residence. The investigation revealed that the victim had returned to her home after being gone for a night to find her ex-boyfriend and two other suspects inside. Officers later arrested the ex-boyfriend later identified as Rodney Harrell Robinson Jr. for Burglary and Theft. The investigation is still ongoing and more charges are expected.
