With school back in session, motorized vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrian traffic has increased as expected. DeFuniak Springs Police would like to remind motorist and pedestrians to pay close attention around our schools, especially during this time of year.

Walton County High School’s first home football game was Friday night August 24th, 2012. Heavy traffic after the game caused some delays for motorist; however there were no other incidents reported.

Citizens of Walton County, as well as visitors, will be travelling to our area to support their young people in various sporting events throughout the school year. It is the DeFuniak Springs Police goal to assist in any way possible in making these life time memories pleasant and as safe as possible for our citizens and visitors.

DeFuniak Springs Police are providing additional personnel during these times to assist with congested areas and wants to encourage everyone to continue to practice safe driving in these areas.
