The “DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER” campaign began on August 16th, 2012 and ended September 3rd, 2012. Members from several police and sheriff’s agencies across Florida participated in the Labor Day Driving Crackdown event.
Even though this is an everyday operation for DeFuniak Springs Police as well as other agencies, it is our goal to educate our citizens that during holidays, the chances of being a victim of a negligent or under the influence driver increases.
During approximately twelve (12) duty hours, DeFuniak Springs Police made two (2) Driving under the Influence arrests, four (4) Suspended Licenses arrests, and four (4) Felony arrests. Also during this operation there were three (3) Fugitives apprehended, nineteen (19) unrelated arrests, and ten (10) citations issued.
Members from the DeFuniak Springs Police are at work for you. We believe through tough enforcement and your help, we can make our streets and neighborhoods safer.
