[ARCHIVED] THREE ARRESTED ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGES

The DeFuniak Springs Police (DFSP) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) today announced the arrest of Lee Edward Owens, 46, Crystal Leigh Brady, 28, and Daniel Arnell Thompson, 23, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., on methamphetamine drug charges.
The joint investigation began between the two agencies following a traffic stop initiated by DFSP on November 22nd, 2010. The driver who was identified as Daniel Thompson attempted to elude police for a short distance by operating the motor vehicle in a reckless manner. Thompson lost control of the vehicle in the area of East Orange Avenue and 11th Street after the vehicle become inoperable, he then fled on foot. DFSP Officers gave chase apprehending him on Circle Drive.
Owens, Brady, and Thompson were charged by DFSP with possession of listed chemicals, a second-degree felony. Thompson was also charged with fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, a third-degree felony; resisting an officer without violence, a first-degree misdemeanor; and driving while license suspended or revoked a first-degree misdemeanor. All three were booked into the Walton County Jail.
The WCSO executed a search warrant at a residence located at 23 West Violet Lane and located hazardous chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine. The investigation is considered active and ongoing and additional charges are pending.
