The Walton County leg of the Special Olympics Florida Law Enforcement Torch Run is now set for Thursday, March 28, 2013! We will gather at Frank’s Corner, 915 Highway 90 West, DeFuniak Springs, Florida promptly at 0830 hours. This is located directly across the street from Northwest Florida State College. After a short photograph session, we will run east on U.S. Highway 90 for approximately 1.5 miles and end on the front lawn of the Walton County Courthouse. The pace will be slow to moderate so that we can all stay together. In the event that someone is unable to keep up with the group, we will have a trailing vehicle that you can get in and ride the rest of the way, or get out about a block away from the ending location and finish with the group.

Multiple agencies have already committed to this event and we are again expecting a large turnout. Additionally, we are hoping to again have some of our local Special Olympic athletes either participate or be waiting on our arrival at the courthouse.
