December 3rd, 2010 members of the DeFuniak Springs Police participated in the Festival of Trees. This was a fundraiser that took place at the Chautauqua Building, Chamber of Commerce. The proceeds raised in this event are to go to the installation of an elevator.
Members of the DeFuniak Springs Police arrived at the Chautauqua Building early Friday morning with their small entry money to allow them to participate in this event. They then went to work quickly assembling a six foot Christmas tree and decorating it with ornaments with all the members’ names.
“It’s like the old saying, better to give then receive, and it’s even better when it’s our community and I also want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday” said City Marshal, Chief Mark A. Weeks.
