[ARCHIVED] WALMART ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED BY DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE

Niceville Police issued a BOLO Tuesday afternoon concerning a robbery that had occurred at WalMart in Niceville. The descriptions of the female suspects and vehicle they were driving were also relayed. Approximately 30 minutes later, an Officer with the DeFuniak Springs Police spotted the vehicle traveling east on U.S. Highway 90 East. A traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of Southern Springs Apartments. It was determined that two of the three females in the vehicle were responsible for the robbery at WalMart. The suspects were taken to the DeFuniak Springs Police for questioning by Niceville Investigators. Investigation revealed that 33 year old Antionette Angelique Wicklund and 27 year old Ashley Victoria Scott, both of DeFuniak Springs, attempted to shoplift several items from the store in Niceville. They were confronted by store security personnel and a struggle ensued. The suspects were able to flee in a black colored 2002 Ford Crown Victoria. Both females also had felony warrants out of Walton County for grand theft auto and other charges. They were transported to the Walton County Jail on the warrants with a hold for the charges out of Niceville. Chief Weeks added that he is grateful for the quick relay of information by Niceville and the fast response by his Officers.
