[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC CRASH INVOLVING SCHOOL BUS

On January 18th, 2011 Officers from the DeFuniak Springs Police responded to a traffic crash involving a Walton County School Bus driven by Dianne Hall and a (Sport) Utility Vehicle driven by Joshua Hunter.

Officer’s Investigation on scene revealed that the bus was traveling south on U.S. Highway 331 South and was slowing/stopping for the traffic light at Bob Sites Road. The Utility Vehicle was also traveling south behind the bus and failed to slow/stop striking the bus in the rear. The crash left the bus with rear/center damaged however was able to be driven from scene. The Utility Vehicle sustained severe frontend damage disabling it to point that it had to be towed from scene.

The Bus did have thirty-eight (38) passengers and the Utility Vehicle was only occupied by the driver. There were no reported injuries on scene. The Driver of the Utility Vehicle Joshua Hunter was found at fault for the crash and cited for Careless Driving.
