On January 18th 2011 the Defuniak Springs Police, American Cancer Society, Relay For Life team, better known as the DFSP CRUZURS, hosted the January 2011 Party at the Defuniak Springs Community Center.
The CRUZURS are once again SHOOTING and CRUISING for a cure for this disease call CANCER. The CRUZERS began early evening decorating, cooking and arranging gifts that would be given away as door prizes and for those in attendance, the food and prizes were furnished and prepared by the CRUZURS.
As the audience was finishing their dinner they were shown two video’s to educate them on the American Cancer Society as well as the progress that this event has made over the several years of existence.
City Marshal, Chief Mark A. Weeks who is also a member of the CRUZURS welcome everyone in attendance and spoke on the importance and how emotional this Relay For Life is for our community. “The fight against cancer is a fight worth fighting; this disease has touched many lives in our community, and your life in some way through a friend or love one” said Chief Weeks.
