Chief Mark Weeks, on behalf of the DeFuniak Springs Police, gave a presentation to clients of Resources for Human Development (RHD) on Wednesday morning. Tips were given on how to stay safe while using the World Wide Web. “Don’t post personal information such as your name, address, and phone numbers…you never know who may view it,” stated Chief Weeks. He and another agency member gave additional guidance to the clients that they should tell their mentor if they receive an email from someone they don’t know. Several questions were asked and some clients described how they had been victims of identity theft and exploitation. Each client was also given a descriptive brochure on tips to stay safe on the internet.
