[ARCHIVED] MAN STABBED ON S 13TH STREET

Officers with the DeFuniak Springs Police responded Friday, April 17th to S. 13th Street in reference to a man needing medical attention. Officers arrived at approximately 8:30 PM and found a conscious 31 year old man lying in a field with his hand clutching his chest. His shirt was covered in blood and he said that another man had stabbed him. Walton Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to North Okaloosa Medical Center. The victim was then transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he was treated and later released.

A suspect has been identified, however, the investigation is on-going. It is unknown at this time what the motive was or exact circumstances surrounding the stabbing. Further details will be released when they become available.
