On January 20th 2011 Officers from the Defuniak Springs Police visited the preschool children at the First Baptist Church. Officers began the visit by answering many questions pertaining to their responsibilities as an officer.
Officers then introduced EDDIE the EAGLE as they explained to the children that EDDIE was their mascot for gun safety. Then the children took turns having their photographs taken with EDDIE as well.
Next the children met Officer Vito the Agency’s K-9. The children cheered as Officer Vito performed and obey several commands from his handler Officer Chad Earley.
The Officers then gave each child in attendance a Goodie Bag and provided the educators / teachers extras for the children that were not able to attend for whatever reason on this day.
