[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: SEMI-TRUCK CRASH

DeFuniak Springs Police are still investigating what happened to cause a massive crash on Highway 90 and 331 S on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the SUV, 38 Lucia Lovato was making a left turn onto 90 when she was struck by a semi driven by 46 year old Leonard St. John of Collinsville, AL. The impact caused the collision with a Lincoln sedan driven by 74 year old Vonnie McBroom of DeFuniak Springs. St. John was not injured. McBroom was transported by a family member for possible injuries and was later released.

Lovato was taken to Sacred Heart in Pensacola and is listed in stable condition. A 10 year old passenger of the SUV was initially taken to Pensacola, but had to be taken to a children's hospital in Birmingham for life threatening injuries requiring emergency surgery. A 4 year old is in listed in serious condition at Sacred Heart in the PICU ward. The fourth occupant of the SUV, a 7 year old is also listed in stable condition at Sacred Heart. It is unknown at this time where the driver or passengers of the SUV are from. The vehicle is registered out of Georgia.
