DeFuniak Springs Police and DeFuniak Springs Fire responded to an overturned semi-trailer hauler at the intersection of US Highway 331 South and US Highway 90, early Friday afternoon. The driver of the truck and trailer stated he was turning onto US Highway 331 S and was traveling too fast when the trailer overturned. A well digging machine, that was on the trailer, toppled over and landed on its side. The trailer structure also gouged a large chunk of the asphalt in the travel lane. Additional road damage was sustained. The trailer and machine belong to Environmental and GeoTec Specialists, Inc. out of Tallahassee.

Thankfully there were no injuries or other vehicles involved. Traffic was diverted around the crash for several hours. A large class wrecker had to respond in order to turn the trailer and well digging machine upright. The machine was loaded back on the trailer and the roadway was cleared. The Florida Department of Transportation responded to temporarily repair the roadway. The driver of the truck is being charged with careless driving for making the turn too fast.
